Critic Reviews for La La Land: The Dreamers' Paths

The video essay made me cry. I never cry. That should tell you all you need to know about this film, and I didn’t even mention City of Stars.

Jaden issued a statement a couple of weeks ago during the press junket for this movies premiere claiming that "this is by-far my proudest work" and I have to say I disagree. Now don't get me wrong, I understand why Mr. Nicita feels this way, it being a very vocal passion project of his over the last few years. My main problem with the film lies in its  subject matter: La La Land. If you are in the audience and have either never seen the film or happen to dislike it, this will be a long viewing for you.  I appreciate the technical and productional brilliance (not to mention the highlight of the film City Of Stars), but it doesn't make up fo the huge hurtle that a decent potion of the audience will have to face. But I will say the "City of Stars" Recreation is pure cinematic holiness.  69/100

Brilliant recap of themes and meanings behind the La La Land story! Nicita delves deep in his analysis to reveal his discoveries. Perfect transfers from his thoughts to scenes in the movie. Fabulous rendition of his own recreation. Don’t miss this!! 100/100

The topic of this documentary narrated by Jaden Nicita is one of my favorite musicals. Jaden rips into the deeper meaning of the show, to find the difference between the real world and the dream world in that movie, In doing so, he not only found the true, satisfying meaning. Keep what is sacred and don't let the harsh reality of the world be known to you. 100/100
